Book 17 defines LED light engines (LLEs) with an integrated driver and a circular light-emitting surface (LES). These are suitable for spot-lighting applications such as compact indoor luminaires.

The maximum LLE diameter is 81 mm, and the maximum height is 15 mm.

The mounting-hole spacing is 35 mm, which is the same as for Book 10 LED modules (category D50).

A range of LES categories is possible, based on the LES diameter, and these are the same as for Book 10.

Due to the integrated driver, these LLEs operate using AC mains voltage.
